Dennis Applegarth has been in professional photography for 30 years. He and his wife Norma own and operate a beautiful 15,000 square foot studio in downtown Beatrice Nebraska, where they specialize in family portraiture.
Growing up in the small town of Steele City, Nebraska, Dennis attended college at the University of Nebraska, where he majored in computer science as a member of Triangle Fraternity. Dennis is a member of the Professional Photographers of America, Professional Photographers of Nebraska and the National Federation of Independent Business. He has taught photography at Southeast Community College for the last 15 years, and has produced seminars and taught leadership, customer service and public speaking for several years.
Dennis has served as founder and chairman of the board for the CareNet Crisis Pregnancy Center in Beatrice. He has also served as chairman of the Beatrice Chamber of Commerce Retail Council, the Beatrice Downtown Merchant's Association, and the Beatrice Coalition for Life. He has served on the District Steering Committee for the Beatrice Public Schools, as president of the Beatrice Toastmasters Club, as committee chairman of the Beatrice Noon Kiwanis Club, and as Chaplain of Boy Scout Troop 221. Dennis is the Worship Team leader at Homestead Church, where he also teaches Sunday School. He is currently serving as state president of the Gideons International.
Dennis and Norma enjoy a close relationship with their three children, all of whom work with them at the studio and have been home-schooled. Jessica, 19 is in college majoring in graphic design. Jonah, 18 and a senior, has just achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He is planning a career in the Air Force, and is interested in video production and computer generated imaging. Janelle, age 14, enjoys softball and Bible Quiz.
